This is one of the most visited place in Shiga other than the Hikone Castle. The houses in the pond you can see in this video are hundreds of years old. It was built during the Edo Period in Japan and was owned by clans who belong to the upper class.Today, these houses are maintained mainly for tourism. If you want to drink tea, you can go at one of this houses and they’ll serve you one.
