On May 16, 2015, Eisenhower Elementary and XinXing Academy in Hopkins, Minnesota hosted The Royal Run, an obstacle course race that provided fun for the school community. The Royal Run focused on movement and community, and took place outside and inside the school building. The run was sponsored by local business Rhythm and Roots which also focuses on movement and community to help promote longevity. The school's physical education teacher and school nurse collaborated to make the event come to fruition, along with the helping hands of parent, community and school staff volunteers. The event was offered at no cost and provided free t-shirts and free smoothies after the race.
